Pacet area is one of Cianjur's prominent tourist spots is attractive to climbers, hikers and walkers because of Gede Pangrango Mount, Cibodas Botanical Garden, Mandala Kitri Park, for youth and scouting activities, flower city and Nusantara flower garden.
In the sub districts of Cikalong kulon, there is a place where visitors and locals pay homage to the first regent's grave yard popularly known as Makam Dalem Cilundul since the 17 th Century. Cianjur also has the only of rooster found nowhere else called “Ayam Pelung”. This rooster has a melodious voice, gleaming feathers and a relatively big physique.
Every year, on the occasion of Cianjur's Anniversary on July 12, there is a contest to select the best Ayam Pelung of which the winner Ayam Pelung may cost millions of rupiahs. Cianjur has long been developing an integrated 3 aspect tourist service program: What to see such as beautiful mountains, natural lakes, forests, beaches and typical wild animals, What to taste such as typical local foods and what to take such as souvenirs traditional, typical and wholly local. When you visit Cianjur, make sure that you will take with you among other things:
- Gentur Lamp, made from brass and various colorful glasses and designed artistically in the sub district of Warung kondang. - Birdcage made in sub district of Karang tengah is economically marketable and once received a National Award. - Bamboo atelier, tables and chairs are hand crafted by the locals in Cianjur, productively and economically marketable and once received a National Award. The furniture suits well the rooms for relaxation. - Ceramic handicrafts are made in the sub district of Ciranjang and good for making any rooms more attractive and comfortable. - Kecapi in miniature is made from wood and metal according to the original kecapi that is used to accompany Cianjuran songs and other sundanese songs. |
